Miguel Rodriguez is a first generation Mexican American.  Miguel Rodriguez’s parents migrated to the United States in the mid-1970's residing in Southern California. While attending a school in California the teachers spoke in Spanish to cater to the Hispanic kids in the area.  This seemed normal until the day came where Miguel and his family moved 3,000 miles across the country to a primarily white suburbia area in Northwestern Pennsylvania. This is where Miguel experienced his "identity crisis."

At an early age, Miguel lived through what many young people face today in not fitting in or being accepted by his peers or feeling like he belonged.  Miguel experienced many personal struggles and obstacles as he grew up and then one day he had an awakening.  This “aha moment” is where he was able to love and accept himself for who he is.

Miguel now travels the country encouraging students of all ages to embrace who they are and how they must protect themselves from any doubt, discouragement or negativity.
